Christmas 2008- family fun for all

This is a group photo of our entire family including but not limited to the dogs...
There is Heather with Daniel, Allie and Nick with their dog weezer, Robbie holding Bekah and Ashleigh, Bud and Cirus, and in front are Rob with our charlie, and me holding Audrey...

Our family is growing by leaps and bounds. Christmas was an adventure to say the least. We all met at our house on Christmas eve to open our new pj's (santa won't come if you are wearing old pj's) then some of us went to church, others went home (not feeling well) and others went to hang out over friends houses.
The next morning Christmas- rob robbie and i opened presents together and then we chilled. i mean we did nothing all morning execpt for rob who was a dear sweet soul and made me a everything bagel with ham, egg, and cheese on it.. yum yum.... Ashleigh got here around 12 and joined us in doing nothing... the turkey was in the oven the ham was ready to go and all was well.
Around 1 everyone else started to trickle in: Bud Heather and little ones following and Nick and Allie. Audrey wanted to open presents first thing so while we all got our energy reved up again i gave her the Elmo live doll papa and i got her- she loved it... and that kept her busy for a while so we could mash the sweet potatoes, and clean the asparagus to be cooked. then came the flurry of wrappings and presents along with the shouts of "i can't believe i got this" and "how did you know I wanted this". I was busy taking pictures with the new camera rob got me.. i love it...
After everyone ate their fill and buttons were about to pop - things were packed up and put in cars along with children and dogs and everyone went home to head for richmond in the morning.
Heather dropped Bekah off at 6:30 and then they headed out. Rob bekah and i left around 10 and stopped by gary and judis then bekah decided to throw up in her car seat as we were driving down the road. after stopping cleaning her and the car seat up and changing her clothes we met allie and nick at the border station. Soon robbie caught up with us and we were all headed to richmond to see jes, jon, mom and dad. We all had a great time there and i would add pictures but they would kill me and i don't wish to die yet...
So until later... Happy New Year and May God bless everyone with good health, lots of wealth, and exciting new year... Sherri

audrey and the gingerbread house

The Sunday before Christmas Audrey came over after we went to church and we made a gingerbread house together... she was all ooohs and aaahs as i unwrapped it. Then she grabbed one of the sides of the house - yells cookie and almost took a bit out of it. I showed her the picture and explained that we were going to decorate it together and her reply was "do we eat it"? So all is going well we 'glue' it together - well actually i glued it together Audrey ate the glue that dripped. I held the roof on and then we went to watch tv for the 20 minutes it took to dry.

After the waiting period and millions of "is it dry yet" we went back into the dining room to decorate the house. I was spreading the icing on the roof and Audrey says, "Audrey lick it" I asked her what and she replied, "just one lick please". Audrey wanted to lick the icing off the roof.. No i didn't let her but promised her one of the gingerbread man after we finished.

After the roof was iced i poured the Candie on the table and told Audrey to decorate the roof- she decided to eat the candy instead. half went in her mouth and half went on the cake... then we decorated the men and their tree- afterwards and i mean seconds afterwards Audrey looks up at me with her big blue eyes and says, "Audrey eat it now". I explained to her that it had to dry a little to stay together. so we went back to the TV and continued to watch some kids movie that was on. i looked in the dining room a little while later and noticed the roof sliding off the house. Rob came to the rescue with a can of green spray icing an two toothpicks and glued the house back together and propped up the roof with the toothpicks... It shows that those years owning a construction company paid off.

A little while later Heather arrived with Bekah and Daniel. Audrey showed them the house and then told Bekah " we get to eat it" so i gave in gave them each a gingerbread man to eat. Bud came over later and ate the tree...

So there is the first and only gingerbread house i've ever made and i think audrey enjoyed eating it instead of making it...

Tater bud, audrey, bekah and the rest of us

Tater bud (daniels nick name of the week) is growing by leaps and bounds. He is already holding up his head, looking around, and eating like a hog... he loves to eat, burp, and pass gas - i guess he takes after his papa (robert). His eyes are still blue, his hair is dark and he is beautiful.

Bekah is trying so hard to keep up with Audrey. When I take Audrey to Potty she cries to go with us and then she repeats over and over pee pee so after the new year we will (just when she is here) start letting her us the potty. She is super moody and God forbid you bug her when she is in a bad mood. She hits, kicks, and bullies everyone execpt tater. she is so gentle with him. She loves her big sister but they fight over everything.

Audrey is getting super big. Her favorite saying now is "duh" and "whatever" and she says them all at the right times. We (rob and I) took her Christmas shopping today. She was sooo good. She was amazed at all the Christmas things at Garden Ridge.. We took her to Chick Fil for dinner and she got to play in their play room for about an hour. She loved the slide the best and kept going through the maze and sliding down.

The rest of us are doing great. Robbie is still in Richmond- hopefully he and Ashleigh will be here for Christmas. Heather and Bud of course have been busy with three kids and daniel keeps them all up when he cries. Nick and Allie are finally in their own house and are doing great although their basset hound got out and we have to look for it tomorrow after church.

Rob is doing great and his shop is getting busy... He is decorating the house and putting up the Christmas tree tomorrow. He's a busy little beaver. one of his customers gave him a bushel of oysters and he is making oyster everything for dinner tomorrow.

I am finishing up all of my final projects this week for school. I finish this semester next friday and i am really looking forward to being done... one more semester left and I graduate... i think i decided to go to florida tech university on line in the fall to get my masters in healthcare admin. but i haven't enrolled yet so we shall see... until later... sherri

Tater has arrived... Daniel Keith Thomas Newell

Welcome Daniel Keith Thomas Newell!!!!!!
Heather and Bud finally have a son: Daniel Keith Thomas Newell was born to day at 2:25 PM. He weighed in at 8lbs 6.5 ozs, 21 inches long and beautiful...
He has spots of black hair and blue eyes... And yes, his Ga Ga thinks he is wonderful....
Audrey wasn't too sure about him until they took him away. Then she cried "wheres baby- I want my baby". Bekah just decided that he was hers and didn't want anyone to touch him.
He has Heathers nose and maybe Buds hair line but thats all we see for the first day... I know he'll change rapidly but for now he is his own person. Hopefully he will grow into his super large big toes but other than that he is beautiful.
Heather is doing great and Bud is staying up at the hospital with her. Nick and Allie are watching the little princess' at their house....
I'm sure there will be more pictures soon... Sherri

Nick and Allie's wedding...

Nick and Allie got married on November 8th, 2008. The wedding was so beautiful and both of them looked so great. Robert was the best man while Rob and Bud were groomsman. Audrey was the cutest little flower girl that I have ever seen. Heather still has not had daniel but looks like she will any day. The wedding was a wonderful experience and the food was outstanding. Rob looked so great in a tux (only him and George W can get away with wearing boots and a tux). Ashley flew in from Penna. to go to the wedding with Robbie. They both looked great : ) Bekah was beautiful in her black and pink dress. She and Audrey danced up a storm and their favorite food was the chocolate that I made. Kathy and Carol (from the office) came and took pictures for the wedding - they did such a super job. To them I am very greatful and in debt a lot. All in all the wedding was great- we missed some people that couldn't make the wedding and wish they could have been here but life happens. Have a great day and wish them luck if you see them...

halloween with the girls

We went to Nags Head Churches' trunk or treat with the girls. Audrey was a cheerleader, but if you ask her she will tell you "princess cheerleader" and Bekah was a pink dinosaur complete with a huge fat tail... They got more candy then Heather will ever let them eat.. The church gave away candy, hot dogs, cotton candy, and popcorn. Bekah and I sat on the floor eatting the Popcorn and drinking lemonaide. I had to force Bekah to taste cotton candy but once I got her to taste it she loved it... The Girls are absolutely beautiful and seemed to have a good time. Audrey is always saying "trick or treat" when she sees me and I give her candy. She had an expression on her face when she had to wait for candy as if to say, "ga-ga does this faster". Gotta love the girls.. Daninel should be here anytime and then we will have a boy to find bugs with.. Audrey is scared to death of bugs- ants, beetles, etc but she loves snakes. I hope Daniel doesn't figure it out or Audrey is going to be in big trouble. Bekah however loves cars, dirt, and such so a little brudder is exactly what she needs... until later... sherri

Okay So I forgot...

We (Rob and I ) worked this morning at the OBXnation's church fair... It was a blast... Rob got to help with the games and gave a lot of candy and prizes out to the kids. I got to play 'first aid' and put a total of one band aid on and that was on the preachers wife (she cut her finger the night before and needed it replace because she got chocolate icing on it from a donut). Bud, Heather, Audrey, Bekah, and Samantha (Bud's younger sister) came up there and played the games, ate the food, and won a lot of the raffle items. I got a $25.00 gift certificate to a tanning bed and gave it to Allie to use before the wedding...

We (Rob, Nick, Allie, Bud, Heather, the girls, and myself) went to Heather and Bud's church this evening for a huge "chili-cook off". There were 19 entries and Rob won third place... His chili was sooo good. I am so proud of him and he was over joyed. Heathers church is starting the 40 days of the purpose driven life series and I've decided to go there for the next seven weeks and I am going to go to one of the small group meetings each week. I love the books by Rick Warren and I am really interested in this lesson..

Okay so I am finished for now and will write again soon... Blessings

Latest News on the Jenkins front.....

Time for a quick update:
Robbie is off traveling the entire US. He has been to Pittsburgh, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, and finally he is back in Richmond. We text message each other all the time. I am so very proud of all he is doing. His talent still amazes me and yes, I still think he is good enough to be on Broadway. He is going to come home one weekend really really soon...

Heather looks like she is about to pop.. They say her due date is November 16th- I think they are wrong. I still think she's due around the 28th of October. She looks so cute- kinda like she swallowed a watermelon seed. She doesn't feel so great and waddles when she is walking but then again she is very pregnant.

Nick is getting married on November 8th. Yes, I've had six weeks to plan the entire wedding. I absolutely love Allie so although I am tired and worn out- I think it is wonderful and love being able to help. They both are living with us for the time being. Nick had to come back to the beach to live because he kept having nose bleeds in Raleigh. Raleigh is where he met Allie. Yes, he is working for Rob again and he is really good at doing this kind of work...

Audrey is a monkey. One of her favorite things to do is look at dresses on the Internet with me. We have been looking at flower girl dresses for the wedding. Okay so she thinks every dress is hers and I need to buy it for her. We picked out the cutest flower girl dress- it's white with small white roses at the waist. She is going to wear a "halo" of flowers with chocolate brown and orange ribbons flowing down her back... She will look just like the angel she is.

Bekah is going to watch the wedding from a seat with her very pregnant "I'm not going to be in the wedding like this" mommy. I did buy her a beautiful pink and black dress to wear. Audrey saw it and tried to put it on. Thank God Rob stopped her before she was able to get it out of the closet. Bekah is talking up a storm. She loves to keep calling my name over and over and then laughs when I answer her. She was here the other night and when Heather asked her if she was ready to go home and bekah ran over to me- laid her head on my lap and said "no"... She is so cute.. I get to have both of them over here tomorrow night.

Rob is insane. He is making a four tier wedding cake for Nick and Allie. He and Allie picked out all the stuff needed and it was sooo cute to watch them. He is working soo much lately and is always tired. He loves what he does and his customers have come to love him. They were also really glad to see Nick working with him again. I keep telling him he is getting old and turning into an old man before his time. He did go fishing a few days ago and caught speckled trout and some other kind of fishy.. I can't remember it's name but it sure tasted good...

I have my finals next week. I also have two projects due- one I am almost finished and the other I haven't even started yet... Yes, I know - I better get on it... Then after finals I get the entire following week off of school... yeah, maybe I will be able to get all the wedding stuff done. We (Rob, Nick, Allie, and I) are going to the North Carolina Fair on the 17th- we go to Raleigh on the 16th, the fair on the 17th, and then come home on the 18th... I can not wait.. I have been looking forward to this since July...
Oh well, enough for now... Peace out

I have come to realize...

I have come to realize that:
all men no matter how strong they look whine when not feeling well.
I have come to realize that:
The children you expect the least problems with usually surprise you with the most.
I have come to realize that:
you can teach your kids your values but that doesn't mean they will follow them as they get to be adults.
I have come to realize that:
Once your kids are adults -or at least the legal age of adulthood- you can not control their decisions nor correct their mistakes.
I've learned a lot in the past two days. Rob whines - he had surgery on his hands and though he won't let me help him do things he whines when he hurts himself doing things.
My kids surprise me a lot but the one that I thought would be the hardest to handle seems to be the one I have the least problems with and the one that actually is doing what he has always dreamt of doing. My gripe is over but I'll continue on with this story in the very near future...

crazy life

this past week as been a whirl wind of things. besides both nick and allies cars breaking down and then Robbie's- i also had to work and do school work while playing with the babies and being both a wife, house keeper and full time cook.

rob is suppose to cook dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays. he is a brilliant cook and can make something wonderful out of anything left in the refrid. however his idea of cooking is ordering pizza from papa john's or some other local place.
heather comes twice a week to clean. yes i pay her she isn't a slave... she does a wonderful job but with Daniel due soon she won't be able to keep it up much longer.

nick and Allie are here now- in separate rooms of course. nick seems to be holding up really good and it doesn't seem to bug him much that he had to move home because of his bleeding problems. of course he hasn't bleed since he left his job... however he now needs a new set of dishes because they fell out of the back of bud's truck and no one stopped to see if they could be saved.

Robbie is having fun in Richmond and will be traveling all over soon to perform. we talk to each other at least once a day... in fact his cell phone has a habit of calling here even if he doesn't know it is doing it... scary but true.

the babies were here over night Friday and stayed until Saturday afternoon. Audrey is being potty trained and wet all over robs new recliner... thank God it is scotch guarded and i scrubbed the chair clean... rob sat on the wet but clean seat several times prior to it drying. at least it was a clean seat...

bekah is a little devil... she is into everything and laughs when she is caught. then she takes off running down the hall when she knows you want to get her... and boy can she eat... she hears the refrid.. open and comes running. today she stood at the cookie jar with her arms up crying for cookies. she did say papa today... rob was thrilled.

oh well until later, Sherri

one really crazy life...

This is by far one of my favorite pictures... Kinda gives one that safe feeling

Nick and Rob at a local car show... Of course they are smiling they are looking at cars

This is Allie.. She's Nicks new girlfriend - well actually she isn't that New... I think she's a keeper..

This have been a little crazy here...
Robbie signed a contract with Theater IV and is now living in Richmond. He gets to travel all over the east coast and perform in the school system. He has the leading role as John Smith in Pocahontas. He's excited about doing it and he's really good a children's plays so I'm sure he is going to be excellent... I'm glad he's moving to Richmond- it's a lot closer then Vegas...
Heather is getting big... Daniel is due November 16Th but i doubt if she will make it... The girls are getting big. Audrey is two and bekah is one... Heather and I took them to Richmond to see mom-mom, pop-pop, Jes, and Jon last week end. Audrey kept signing their names over and over all the way there. bekah (who was sitting behind me) kept saying "ga-ga" and every time I said "what" she'd laugh and do it again.. Yes, ALL THE WAY FROM THE OUTER BANKS TO RICHMOND... it was cute the first couple of hundred times...
Nick is moving back to the beach... Raleigh is not what he thought it would be and he would rather be closer to home. Allie is coming with him and hopefully they will soon get married. the only hold up is her mom is in a nursing home and can't make a trip to attend the wedding so they are trying to figure out how to get the wedding to her - she lives in Delaware. Yes I realize they are young but I'd rather they marry then live together and they know how I feel about the situation. We will see...
Rob is working his butt off... Thank God.. He has surgery on his right hand to finish getting all the cancer they found off. He kept putting off the surgery so I just scheduled it and told him he was going. It's better to have it taken off now then lose a hand later. But he's a "man" so he doesn't think anything will happen.. That's why he has me- to make him do all the unfun things he has to do...
I'm back in school hence why i haven't written sooner.. I love the classes. I'm taking "teaching and studying the Bible" and "Bible ministry" now.. I am learning so much but they are such busy classes. I actually have to make lesson plans for the entire book of Philippians. Yes, i know it's only four chapters but it's not what I thought it would be... But I love doing it and it's all good.
So life goes on and I will try to write more often... there is always something here to write about.. our lives would make a great sit com.... take this last week end for instance: heather and i went to Richmond, on the way back I told her how nice it would be to be able to relax after church on Sunday. no sooner were those words out of my mouth when my cell phone rang and it was rob telling me "nick and allies cars both broke and we had to go to Raleigh in the morning", okay so we went, fixed the cars, went to Nicks doctors appointment, and came home. On our way home Robbie called to say his car broke down in Richmond and could we come and fix it. So the next morning we hit the road drove to Richmond and fixed his car. I drove so much in the last four days that i could have been to key west and enjoyed the sun, sand, and fun... Oh well they say things come in three so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

help i'm going insane

Bekah doing what she does best..
nick and allie- see she makes him smile :)

Audrey and her new princess bed... yes the one she won't sleep on....

okay so this past week has been a little on the crazy side. its one thing after another here in the jenkins household.

my sister and nephew are back from Europe and from what i've been told it's not some place i'd like to visit. my patience for smells along with a sorry excuse for a gag reflex would have me not enjoying it at all. i love the pictures she took while there. she actually took one of the london bridge- yes the one nursey rhymns were writting about.. how cool is that...

the mother in law is here for a visit. she came on tuesday and will be here until next tuesday. things are going okay but i'm so not use to having a house full of people... all the kids and their significant others were here for the week end along with robs sister. so i found myself falling over people every where i turned.

robbie is in richmond to try out for the theater four group. he does so well in childrens plays and i sure hope he gets this job if thats what he wants. ashley is going to work with them in the fall so that way they can both be in richmond together.

the babies are here all the time and audrey refuses to sleep in her own bed. she crawled into bed with rob and me on friday night so needless to say i didnt get any sleep at all. between worrying that she would wake rob and that he would wake her - i tossed and turned all night...

school starts in two weeks.. i started my schedule at work- just working tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. i have josselyn on mondays and friday again now. heather has her two days a week also so we spilt the money.. its always great to have some extra money...

heather is getting so big- well at least her belly. they decided on the name daniel keith for the little butter bean... he won't make an appearance until november but he already has a load of clothes, toys, and such waiting for him.

exciting week

Wow what an exciting week: work, grandbabies, plays, stitches and all.
I had to work this week but for only two days (tuesday and wednesday).. it was an exciting time. i never thought i'd work with numbers and math instead of nursing full time. i am now doing all of our doctors billing, filling in for our office manager when she is out, and filling in for the other nurse when she needs me too. i got my school books for the first eight weeks the other day and they look pretty interesting. i'm tempted to start reading them but don't want to get burned out prior to the beginning of the end. I graduate in may... from there i go on to the masters in nursing program at liberty university (God willing)..
the grandbabies came over several times this week to play, destroy the house, and run me ragged.. i just wish i could bottle some of their energy and resell it to the elderly. what a fast paced life they would have...
heather, bekah, audrey, and i went to see robbie in a play in manteo today. he played the part of a boy band member. he was sooo great. then i was able to spend time with him and we all went out to lunch... big Al's in manteo rules!!! robbie will be famous one day.... mark my word... he is a great actor.
rob had his stitches taking out today. five of the nine places were cancer and they got all but one spot. he has to go back in a month for a follow up and have the one place re-cut. the first thing he did when he got out to the car was light up a cigarette. i'll never understand... he's still a little tender but he'll survive....
heather is getting bigger, which means daniel is growing!!! she has a glucose tolerant test done tomorrow... yuck... she'll do fine though she always does...
my sister and nephew are in frankfurt germany... they are on to paris tomorrow... i told her to bring me a pebble from paris but i don't know if she will or not... i'll cry if she doesn't... not!! i hope they are having a ball... wish i was there...

babies, surgery, and europe

audrey came over last night with bekah for dinner and to hang out with papa (robert) and me. i took her to show her how we set the bedroom up for her and her new princess bed and she kept touching it saying "audreys bed"... she loved it.. then she would go to the crib and say "bekahs bed". we watched the bee movie and she kept asking if she could "play in her room". i made brats and tater tots for dinner. bekah loved the brats and ate about 1 1/2 while audrey ate about 1/2 and almost the entire plate of tater tots.
Rob is doing okay after his surgery. he looks like a war hero. He is so bull headed and won't take it easy. He wants to go to a car show today but i don't know if he is really up to going. He does have on long pants and is trying to take it easy. He's such a "he-man"...
My sister and nephew are in europe: salisbury to be exact... she wrote me from london yesterday and then again this morning. they are hiking/backpacking across europe and won't be home for about three weeks.. she sucks... i told her to take plenty of pictures and to bring me a pebble from paris.. doubt she'll want to carry a rock around in her already over loaded back pack but who knows...

New adventures, life goes on,

It's been a while since i've last written and boy have things been busy here. First of all Nick has moved to Raleigh, broke up with ashley, and recently moved into an apartment by himself. All I'll say about the break up is he did it, he moved out and left her with almost everything they bought together but his personal items (including the microwave, surround sound system, and furniture) and then she called him complaining that he took a spoon and the shower curtain liner they purchased together. He's met a really nice girl named allie and we all get along great and she makes nick smile... i haven't seen him smile in a long long time... enough said...
my sister and nephew are in europe now. they left the other morning. she emailed me from london and told me that i suck because i didn't write or call her prior to her leaving. she's in london and i suck- seems a bit odd... i told her i want pictures and a lot of them...
Robert had several spots removed today so he isn't feeling all that great. however he just came in the room and told me "i'm going to my garage for a while. I can't just sit around". i guess he is feeling better.
Robbie is still in manteo at the lost colony. he is also working at big al's hamburger place.. he is doing okay but we never see him. okay so he does come home to do laundry but he sleeps the whole time he is here so i don't think that counts.
heather and bud are having a boy this time. they have picked the name daniel keith. so we are having a little boy this time. i keep calling him the boy when i talk about him. i'm glad they finally picked names so i can start calling him daniel. i need to learn the words to the song danny boy so i'll have a song to sing him to sleep with.
I've ordered my school books and hopefuly they will be hee soon... i got to run for now i hear rob powering up the power tools - that can't be a good thing..

Family pictures

Sneaky little Bekah- She's going to be a handful!!
Audrey's 2nd birthday, her papa, and the cake he made

Rob, Heather, and Nick 6/08

Here are some up dated pictures of the family... The one of the kids is probably the last of the three of them together at the same time. Nick moved to Raleigh, Rob is at the Colony this summer and then off to travel again this fall, and Heather -well my baby girl lives down the street Thank God...

age of laziness

We've entered the age of laziness tonight. To make my research easier my beloved husband Robert bought me a wireless printer. It is wonderful. I can sit in the living room and print off papers for my thesis papers this fall. I've been (for the past two years) looking up references to use then gmailing the sites to myself- going into our office - turning on the desk top- finding the information on my email and then printing it out. A lot of it i have lost the links to due to pure dumbness. So this school year should be a lot easier as far as finding the research sites and getting the information- writing the papers- well that's another story.... got to love advancements...

As the world turns or As the children age.....

Okay so yesterday wasn't the best day in my life but then again I didn't expect it to be. Nick grew up and moved away to Raleigh- he's going to the Raleigh school of communication and arts to get a degree in music and recording. It amazes me but really shouldn't that he is all grown up and on his own.. While i understand in order for him to become a self- supporting adult he must live on his own and learn to pay bills and be accountable- i in turn feel like the employee that worked for a company for twenty some years only to be given a fake golden watch and told "we don't need you any more". Yes, I know i'm still needed as a mom but it is so different when your kids need you for everything and when they only need you for little things. YES, i am waddling in self pity. On the other hand Rob and I are going to Raleigh this wednesday so I can be tortured at UNC and have dental surgery on thursday. Guess what We're staying at Nicks apartment... he is already making dinner plans and such for us. Then (and this is the most exciting part other then the strong drugs they have to give me :) ) Rob and I are going to Richmond to see my mommy, dad, sister, and brother. Rob and my daddy are going fishing and I get to spend time with my mom, sister, and brother.
Audrey turned two on Friday (13th). She had a huge party on Saturday and got more toys then she will ever be able to play with. of course she doesn't know how to share and her favorite word is 'mine'. She is sooo adorable though that it's easy to over look any thing that may be seen as a flaw. Bekah is standing up without holding on but no walking as of yet... as i have said before they grow up way to fast...

Dean's List and fall classes....

So I got home from work on Tuesday and found a letter from my school -Regent University. I thought it was a financial aid letter or something reminding me to register for fall classes. What it actually was and i still don't believe, it was a letter telling me I made the dean's list for last semester. I actually had a GPA of 3.9. that is one of the reasons i don't think kids should be forced to go to college right out of school. I doubt i ever would have made the deans list- let alone have a GPA that high... I read the letter and screamed in excitment told my hubby and younger son and then tried to call my mom and dad. mom (of course) was at work and dad was sleeping. I did get to share my wonderful, exciting, yet overwhelming news with my sister. So I did register for my fall classes.. most of them are for my minor in religious studies- but I think all of them should turn out interesting.... until later...

cow poking, red necking, good ole time

I missed the cow poking, red necking time on Saturday. The rodeo came to the beach and I missed it. Heather was moving and it completly slipped both of our minds.. Rob may have just not mentioned it because I wanted a turn at riding a bull and he thinks I'm crazy... The way I see it is: when you're told you'll never walk again and then God lets you- you should try all the things that you want to.. Rob on the other hand thinks that I need to be careful since I'm walking on borrowed time. I told him I would only do a fake one, but he just frowned at me. One of these days I'll be sitting on a bull and Rob will be screaming at me to get off and opps the gate will open and the rest will be history....

greatest feeling in the world...

imagine walking into a fitting room with a item a size smaller then you wear- just to see how long it will be until it fits. Then you pull it up, and zip it closed and realize "hey it fits" . It actually happened yesterday while trying to find an outfit for my nephews high school graduation. I had been eyeing this skort (skirt and short combo) since it first showed up at the store in late march/early April. the only size close to mine was one smaller and the rest is history... I've lost over 50 lbs since last July and i wanted to jump up and down and scream. but since my husband was on the other side of the door and i knew he'd bust through thinking something was wrong i contained myself and jumped up and down inside only... so I'm smiles for now...
went kayaking yesterday morning it was great.. the sun was hot but God provided a nice breeze. I paddled so i could work my upper arms and enjoyed the sensation and burn in the muscles... so between a size smaller and kayaking yesterday was a very blessed day...

Over memorial day week-end Rob and I took the whole family camping. Heather and Bud had their own tent (the one we used prior to buying our camper) and Nick used the screen tent to sleep in. Ashley came up for a day of two but had to leave because of work. We went kayaking, boating, sun bathing, and played horse shoes.. Over all it was a really great week end.
